Mayor Tom McMahon Announces New
Hire In Mayor’s Office
August 10, 2007: Mayor Tom McMahon, Mayor of the City
of Reading, Pennsylvania announced today that Ms. Cindy
Heminitz will be accepting the position of Chief of Staff
to the Mayor in his office, effective August 20, 2007.
Ms. Heminitz’s professional experience includes
multiple years working in the hospitality, sales and marketing
fields, with her most recent position at the Sheraton
Reading Hotel in Reading as the Director of Catering Sales.
She has been a resident of Reading since 1996, when she
and her husband George purchased and restored their in-home
business, Bed and Breakfast on the Park, on Hill Rd in
Reading.
She also has extensive volunteer experience in the City
of Reading with The Penn’s Common Neighborhood Group
and the Historic District, the Council of Neighborhoods,
Berks Urban Greening, Centre Park Historic District, Berks
County Conservancy, Berks County Historical Society and
the Reading Berks Visitors Bureau.
“I am pleased that Cindy has chosen to take on
this key position on my staff” McMahon stated. “Her
ties to the community through her active volunteerism,
business experience and marketing along with many other
community activities, will be a big asset as we continue
to work with city council to make the city of Reading
a more desirable place in which to live, work and raise

administrative team that is committed to serving the citizens
of the city of Reading.”
