Mayor McMahon Announces Lieutenant Mark E. Talbot, SR. To Be Sworn
In As The City Of Reading's Deputy Chief Of Police
November 28, 2007: Mayor Tom McMahon, Mayor of the City of Reading, Pennsylvania and Chief William Heim, Chief of Police of the City of Reading, Pennsylvania announced today that Lieutenant Mark E. Talbot, Sr. will be sworn in as the City’s Deputy Chief of Police on November 30, 2007, at a ceremony in City Council Chambers at 1:00 p.m.
Deputy Chief Talbot has over thirteen years experience with the Reading Police Department, having served most recently as Commander of the Vice and VIPER (Violent and Pattern Crime Reduction) units. Deputy Chief Talbot began his career with the Reading Police Department as a patrol officer and was promoted to the positions of Sergeant and then to Lieutenant prior to this promotion. In his new role as the Deputy Chief of Police, Talbot will be in charge of the operational aspects of the Reading Police Department which will include implementation of the Strategic Crime Reduction Plan.
